Heart Health in 10 Minutes: Cardio-HART Saves Lives at “Diagnósticos F.C.”, AstraZeneca
July 11, 2025
Event in Vitoria, Spain
June 25th, Vitoria-Gasteiz – BAKH Sports Center
Last week, Cardio-Phoenix partnered with AstraZeneca for a transformative day of community heart-health screening at the “Diagnósticos F.C.” event held at the BAKH Sports Center in Vitoria. The highlight of the event was Cardio-HART™, an AI-powered cardiac diagnostic system delivering echo-level insights in under 10 minutes.
Over five hours, 47 people underwent testing—so many, in fact, that last-minute arrivals had to be turned away. The screenings were performed by two local nurses and analyzed by a Vitoria-based physician, all new to Cardio-HART. The testing workflow was seamless, delivering fast and reliable results.
Participants began with a medical interview about family history and lifestyle, followed by measurements of blood pressure, BMI, height, weight, hip and waist circumference. With two testing beds in operation, each screening took just 10 minutes, averaging five tests per hour per bed.
Early Detection That Matters
While most participants received positive results, three cases were particularly significant—underscoring the importance of early screening:
- A man in his mid-60s, appearing healthy and asymptomatic, was flagged by Cardio-HART as being in early-stage heart failure. His condition resulted from six mild co-morbidities, which would likely have been missed in routine GP check-ups or even cardiology assessments. Thanks to early detection, he can now begin treatment and maintain an active, healthy life.
- Two additional participants were also detected in the very early stages of heart failure. Guided by the on-site doctor and referred to their GPs, they now have crucial information before symptoms emerge.
If these conditions had gone undiagnosed, the likely outcome within 12–15 months would have been emergency hospitalization, costly treatment, and significant life-shortening. Instead, Cardio-HART’s early insight changes everything.
Not Just for Older Adults
The event also included screenings for young athletes aged 16+, where Cardio-HART’s algorithms adjusted for age, family history, and activity levels. For these young people, the screening was not just precautionary—it was empowering.
